It's Great to be a First Grade Teacher

My new kiddos are coming to school tomorrow. We had our Open House tonight and they were so sweet. The biggest excitement was that they actually get their own desk. That was a big hit. As soon as they entered the room they found their desk and sat down. At one point there were 6 of them sitting at their desks because they were so excited. They didn't want to get up because it was their spot. They are all so excited to be a first grader. Cute, cute, cute. Plus all of my old kids came in to say hi and to give me hugs. It is nice to know that they still love you even when you have had to discipline them and they have seen "Ms. Meanie" come out many times. Even though it has been hard to get out of my summer mode I am really excited to start a new year. How could I not because of their excitement?!?! I absolutely LOVE my job because where else can you go and have 22 six year olds make you pictures, give you hugs, and make you laugh and smile all day long. I have a feeling this group of kiddos will have some funny stories, so I'll post those as I have them. I hope you enjoy hearing them as much as I do!
