Running Update

I thought I would give you all an update on how my running is going. I've run off and on since college, but never really stuck to it. I think I always wanted to be able to just run and be good at it instantly. From talking to people and just getting into running slowly, I'm learning that is not the case. I found a great website: www.coolrunning.com that has plans for training and working up to a 5K and then to a 10K. It has been really helpful for me to have a plan and stick to it and then I should be ready for the BolderBoulder at the end of May. Somedays it is pretty difficult to get out there and run, but I'm actually getting to the point where I don't mind doing it as much anymore. So, if any of you are interested in starting to run to get in shape, I would recommend this website. The first training program is called From Couch to 5K. It starts you out really slowly and doesn't overwhelm you, especially if you aren't a runner.

On a different note, we have had some crazy weather in the Denver area this weekend. Yesterday was beautiful and almost 80 degrees and today is 36 degrees and it is dumping snow. Go figure. Maybe it will snow enough to have a snow day tomorrow. Probably not, but I can always hope. :)

Hey Linda - found the link to your blog on your facebook page and started reading. Congratulations to you on the running effort. I started running faithfully in '04 and haven't stopped. I love the time it gives me to think and the way it makes me feel...even when my body is screaming for tylenol. Keep it up and if you want some extra training help check out runnersworld.com and read some of the blogs there. Kristin Armstrong writes an inspirational blog that she updates weekly. The site also has a great training log and running route planner. Keep posting about it, it's great to hear of another person catching runner's fever!
