I have been without a credit card for 3 months. I never carried much of a balance on it and then the card company decided that they were going to raise my interest rate. At that point I decided it was time to cancel it because I didn't really need it at all. I'd been toying with the idea for awhile since I'm trying to stick with Dave Ramsey's plan, but I felt a security having it, even though Matt assured me that it was a false sense of security. So, I've been without any credit card (except for my debit card) for 3 months and I don't miss it one bit. I've noticed that I'm definitely aware of what I spend my money on because I know that I don't have that card to use "just in case." I like that I have one less person that I owe money to!

That's great. I don't know if I could be that brave to totally get rid of my credit card.
That's awesome Linda. We are working our way to that sort of peace.
Good work Linda! Jena and I have been without a credit card for a year and half. I carry my driver's license and my debit card in my wallet and have not needed a stupid credit card one time. It definitely forces you to plan your spending, but that's exactly what you should be doing. I'm proud of you!!
